About NASCLA

The National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies is a non-profit organization, founded in 1962, with a focus on promoting best practices and license uniformity for agencies that regulate the construction industry.

The NASCLA operates with two main goals in mind: 1. Support best practices in the construction industry that promote quality standards and public safety, mutual interests and regulation of business practices. Pertinent information to be made available to NASCLA members via educational seminars and informative publications. 2. Streamline contractor licensing process by (i) acquiring more states who accept the NASCLA Accredited Examination Program and (ii) reducing licensing barriers.

The NASCLA Accredited Examination is comprehensive, covering national and state regulations, building codes, project management, safety standards, and construction techniques. Passing this exam meets the licensing exam requirements for multiple states that recognize NASCLA accreditation.

This exam often serves as a core requirement for obtaining an unlimited general contractor license, streamlining the process for multi-state licensing.

BHR's Enhanced Capabilities

The NASCLA Unlimited General Contractor status grants us the license to perform a wide range of construction work on commercial, industrial, and sometimes residential projects without limitations on the size or scope of the project.

Contractors with this designation can work on large-scale projects, including high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, commercial complexes, and extensive renovations. Unlike limited or restricted licenses, this type allows for work on projects of any size, cost, and complexity, typically including structural changes, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing within the scope of general contracting.

Having a NASCLA license, especially one with an unlimited designation, can enhance credibility and assure clients of a contractor's qualifications and expertise. Being a NASCLA Unlimited General Contractor generally implies high competency and allows for expansive project opportunities across various states.

We are thrilled to announce this news and look forward to the opportunities ahead as we strive for continuous improvement in our ability to serve our valued clients.
