Ben Bowers — USMC Veteran, Builder.
I founded BHR in 2018 — after the Marine Corps, after The Citadel and project-management coursework, and after years in the field at Taylors Electric and other Upstate contractors. No outside backing. The Upstate deserved a builder that runs the schedule, picks up the phone, and stands behind the work — and the accountability culture of the Corps is what BHR runs every project on, every day since.
Today most of what we build is commercial. We're the approved national contractor for 7 Brew Coffee, Rosatis Pizza, Pure Green Juice Bar, and ColdStone Creamery. We hold NASCLA Accredited Commercial GC #126133 — NASCLA Unlimited Building GC — accepted in multiple states via NASCLA reciprocity. And we deliver hotels, offices, multifamily, public-sector, and industrial scopes across the Southeast.
We still build luxury custom homes, additions, and Lake Keowee shoreline projects on the residential side because the same discipline applies — and Upstate families deserve the same standard our commercial clients get.

Ben served in the United States Marine Corps. The chain-of-command discipline, follow-through, and documentation habits forged in the Corps still run every BHR project today.

Field years at Taylors Electric + Upstate contractors
After active duty, Ben learned the Upstate from the ground up — utility line work, field operations, project execution — at Taylors Electric and other respected local contractors. No shortcuts. The reps that make a GC who reads the field, not just the drawings.

Ben founds BHR with a single operating principle: run the schedule, document the work, pick up the phone. The Upstate has plenty of crews. What it didn't have was a USMC-disciplined GC operators and families could both trust by default.

Submittals, OAC meetings, change-order discipline, and close-out packages assembled the way contracting officers, lenders, and OEM auditors expect. Written progress updates for out-of-state owners and any commercial job that needs them. Documentation isn't a deliverable at the end — it's the operating cadence.
Hold The Calendar
Commercial schedules are a promise to investors, congregations, school boards, and tenants. Residential schedules are a promise to a family. We schedule backwards from the date the customer needs it — and we hold milestone gates every week against that date.
